The votes are in: ShopAtHome.com's Favorite Restaurants
“I love their soup, salad and breadsticks,” wrote one ShopatHome.com member in a review on the ShopAtHome.com site entitled “Awesome Food” posted on Olive Garden Coupons.
“They have a tortellini that is really good. I want to take my kids next week. They love the food,” the member said.
Even in tough economic times, families celebrate special occasions by going out for dinner, and use ShopAtHome.com restaurant coupons to do it. A look at the member comments for some of the 120 restaurants on ShopAtHome.com revealed postings about celebrating first communions, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, graduations and many, many other family milestones.
And which ShopAtHome.com restaurants were favored for these special events?
Olive Garden tops the list
According to member choices for “favorite,” Olive Garden received 2,293 votes, nearly twice as many as the site that took second place, McDonald’s Coupons, which received 1,273 “favorite” votes. Red Lobster Coupons, in third place with 922 votes, was the only other restaurant to approach 1,000. Rounding out the ShopAtHome.com Top 10 in descending order from there were Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, Soup Plantation and Sweet Tomatoes (the same restaurant chain under two different names), Taco Bell, Outback Steakhouse, Papa John’s Pizza and Ruby Tuesday.
A different take from Google.com
For purposes of contrast, we ranked our list of 120 restaurants against all Google.com searches. Google’s No. 1 turned out to be In-N-Out Burger Coupons, followed in descending order by Uno Chicago Grill, Piccadilly, McDonald’s, Outback Steakhouse, Noodles & Co., IHOP, Hooters, Hard Rock Café and Pizza Hut.
Then, just to have fun with numbers, we figured out what a combination of ShopAtHome.com member favorites and Google hit rankings would look like. This list was determined by averaging the ShopAtHome.com rank and the Google hit rank. Using this system, McDonald’s came out at No. 1 because it ranked No. 2 on ShopAtHome.com and No. 4 on Google, for an average rank of 3 – higher than any other restaurant that’s on both lists. On this list, Domino’s and IHOP tied for 4th place, and Benihana and Denny’s tied for 7th place.
These are the 12 restaurants on the combination ShopAtHome.com and Google list in descending order (alphabetical order when tied): McDonald’s, Outback Steakhouse, Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, IHOP, Chipotle, California Pizza Kitchen, Benihana, Denny’s, Panda Express, Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn Steakhouse.
Pressure to economize
The choices on all three lists are about evenly divided between fast food/pizza restaurants and moderately priced restaurants with table service. Benihana – a pioneer in staging meals that make family celebrations memorable – is the only listed restaurant with an average dinner entrée price of more than $20. Clearly, families are under pressure to economize even in their celebrations.
Here’s how!
That’s where members of ShopAtHome.com have a clear advantage.
For example?

In terms of dogs, Maggie has seen it all. Dogs have come and gone in her lifetime, gotten ill and gotten better, been naughty and acted nice. Maggie knows everything there is to know about dog leashes and collars, doggie boots and dog Halloween costumes, dog brushes and dog combs, dog vets and dog hospitals. But there is one thing Maggie does not know that has to do with dogs. What could it be, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. She does not know about the ShopAtHome.com dog coupons!

Toys Coupons
The problem is this: toys are expensive. The electric music player, the American Girl Doll, the box of Legos – all of these together cost a fair amount of money. One way to cut the costs of buying toys is to use coupons. Baby Coupons
Babies today require so much attention and so many supplies: the bottles, the crib and bedding, the toys, the soft food, the clothes – all are items your baby needs. They are also items that cost money (unfortunately). As all who have experienced parenthood can attest to, expenses for these supplies add up quickly to a staggeringly huge sum of money. There isn’t really a whole lot you can do to eliminate these costs if you have a baby (besides leaving the baby on your doorstep and hoping a crane will take her away, but who does that?); you can, however, significantly slash the cost of your baby’s everyday needs.
This cost-cutting solution lies in the website ShopAtHome.com. This site’s baby coupons are easily accessible money-making wonders that can help you stay afloat financially while raising a child. Using ShopAtHome.com coupons, you can buy your baby’s toys and amusements at a discounted price from Babies ‘R’ Us; stylish clothes for your baby for a lowered price at French Connection Limited; more baby needs than you thought you needed from Target for a good deal; a stroller for a whopping $100 off the original price from MyStrollers.com; and so many more baby needs from dozens of different stores and websites. (Some other stores that offer discounts on baby needs through ShopAtHome.com are PoshTots, Gap.com, Baby Catalog, Baby Star, BabyEarth, The Baby Outlet, Baby Age, and many more.)
As you can probably tell, these baby coupons from ShopAtHome.com are valuable little things and are well worth the effort to check out if you’re a parent with a baby (or more than one) on your hands. It’s simple to use these coupons: ShopAtHome.com gives you a list of all the stores that offer coupons, tells you what percentage of the original price you’re saving, and gives you a convenient link to the store websites so that you can begin shopping at a discount immediately.
So if you find yourself in a spot of trouble handling your baby’s financial demands – or if you’d just like to save some money (who doesn’t), then visit the ShopAtHome.com baby coupons page and begin shopping.
Home Coupons
Vacuums to remove dirt and mud that make your house feel unpleasant, appliances to aid in making your food as tasty and easy to prepare as possible, and decorations to make the house pleasing to the eye all cost a great deal of money and resources. The cost can be slashed significantly, however, through the use of ShopAtHome.com home coupons. Deals and discounts for a huge number of stores – including Dell Home & Home Office, Home Depot, The Home Decorating Company, Country Store Catalog, Heater-Home.com, Home Everything, Air-Purifier-Home.com, Anna’s Linens, and so many more are all available on ShopAtHome.com.
You can find nice linens for your bed, an air conditioner to cool your air at Air & Water, home theater supplies at AccStation Corp, home decorations at Delphi Glass, lawnmowers and landscapers, office supplies, and almost everything else you can think of that goes into creating a comfortable and safe home. All this and more is offered by the most popular and useful stores at unbelievably low prices!
All it takes in order to access these cost-cutting coupons is to go to the home coupons page on ShopAtHome.com. There you’ll find a convenient list of all the stores and the coupons they give out, complete with descriptions of the products offered at a discount, the percentage of the item’s price you’ll save by using that coupon, and a link to the website so that you can start shopping. All this ShopAtHome.com does in order to make your shopping quick, easy, and cheap.

My Hike Last Week in Allens Park Colorado
Lately, I have been motivating myself to hike outside in this beautiful summer weather!! Just last week a friend of mine recommended me to check out a place called Allens Park; which is right before Estes Park and North of Lyons. I didn't expect the hike to be anything that great because the drive wasn't long and the park didn't seem to deep into the mountains. I only decided to go because I had heard of this gorgeous waterfall in Ozuel, which is part of the hike in Allens Park. This hike was easy, which I enjoyed because it allowed me to enjoy the astonishing wildlife and exotic flowers all around. The hike up to the waterfall was hardly 3 miles long, I would highly recommend it for any family field trip! Once I had reached the waterfall, I was amazed and how beautiful it was! The water was glistening, the trout were easily spotted, and the entire park was so well kept! After I had reached the top of the waterfall I was amped to keep hiking. So, my friend and I continued up the mountain and hiked an extra 7 miles to Blue Lake. By that time my legs were definitely aching from the great work out. The result of this 11 mile hike was breath taking! I am just so amazed that there is a park this beautiful that is so close to human civilization! I highly recommed everyone to take a day trip up there! Also, be sure to visit the website http://www.uptake.com/colorado/allenspark.html. This website shows all the trails, pictures, and various activities in the astonishing Allens Park.
Here are a few pictures from my friend and I near the waterfall :)
My advice to everyone is to go on a hike, even if it is just for a few hours! You'll appreciate the amazing life that surrounds you every day.

Top 3 Places to Celebrate 4th of July and why!
#1: Boston
Boston is ranked the #1 place to celebrate the birth of USA because it was the land that hosted the American Revolution! Hosting over 200 events on 4th of July, Boston has become one of the nation's preimer 4th of July destinations. One well known event is called the Boston Harborfest. This festival starts off in late June and continues through the independence holiday. This patriotic celebration focuses on the city’s strong maritime and colonial heritage, and unfolds, as such, along the waterfront, on the Harbor Islands, and in historic downtown. Expect a slew of events (most of them free), ranging from fireworks, concerts, kids’ days, cruises, tours, and more. Some of the festival’s highlights include the Boston Chowderfest, during which some 12,000 participants chow down to select the best chowder from Boston-area restaurants; the annual turnaround of the USS Constitution; and the reading of the Declaration of Independence from the balcony of the Old State House. The other major component of Bean Town’s Independence Day festivities is the free Boston Pops Concert and Fireworks Display; arrive early with beach chairs or blankets to guarantee good seats.
#2: Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard
With their sand dunes and salty air, lighthouses and quaint fishing villages, Cape Cod and its neighboring islands make superb Independence Day retreats which include various picnics and parades. Martha's Vineyard hosts a famous BBQ at the Old Whaling Church, where you'll get a delicious taste of New England cooking. The Hyannis Boat Parade in Cape Cod is a fleet of patriotically decorated boats and yachts (with awards given to the best "dressed"). Nantucket’s Independence Day Celebration on Jetties Beach, with good family fun like three-legged races and a tug-of-war by day and fireworks come nightfall. A great way to see more than one island and watch the fireworks from a prime Atlantic spot, is by cruising the Vineyard Sound from Woods Hole.
#3: Chicago
Chicagoans get so amped for the city’s annual Independence Day festivities that they actually kick off the revelry days in advance. Spectacular firework displays, fun festivals, rockin’ concerts, and ballgames make the city an obvious choice for a holiday hurrah. No 4th of July would be complete without a colorful fireworks extravaganza – and Chicago hosts three nights of them! The most elaborate display is set to patriotic music and lights up the sky over the Navy Pier, a superb location with sweeping skyline views along Lake Michigan. Be sure to grab a seat at the Navy Pier Beer Garden, before or after the show, to listen to free performances by stellar Chicago-area bands, which jam to the blues, rock, reggae, and rock n’ roll; remarkable free concerts are also held at the Petrillo Music Shell. If you haven’t been to Chicago in a while, you’ll also find some interesting new amusements in the modern Millennium Park, which debuted in July 2004 and borders Grant Park.
Enjoy the celebration of our beautiful country no matter what city you are in!!

FATHERS DAY TRIVIA AND FACTS
The History of Fathers Day!
Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a "father's day." She thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.
Sonora wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. Smart, who was a Civil War veteran, was widowed when his wife died while giving birth to their sixth child. Mr. Smart was left to raise the newborn and his other five children by himself on a rural farm in eastern Washington state.
After Sonora became an adult she realized the selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.
President Calvin Coolidge, in 1924, supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law which finally made it permanent in 1972.
Fun Fathers Day Quotes:
"One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters." -- English Proverb
"A man knows when he is growing old because he begins to look like his father." -- Gabriel García Márquez
"If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right." -- Bill Cosby
He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland
Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope. ~Bill Cosby

During the sunset of a sunny summer day clothe yourself in loose comfortable, yet form fitting knits that are earthy prints and colors. Examples of these colors would be light blue, tan, purple, white, dark blue and red. Appropriate animal prints or tie die are definitely in.
A great summer top for day or night during the summer time would be a comfortable shear printed (paisley) tank top with ruffle detail.
If you're planning on lounging around with friends on the beach or running errands for the day; slip into something comfortable, classy and compatible with you activities for the day. Try something like a neutral pattern sarong skirt, or Mediterranean beach style knit pants.

TGIF!!!
Top 5 Budget Beach Vacations for Summer!
These 5 beaches are my favorite locations in North and Central America, with a special should out to Brazil. They are in safe communities, with great accomodations, and cheap airfare! Not to mention, you can do a variety of fun and different activities on the breathtaking beaches, for breathtaking prices!
1)Tulum, Mexico
An hour drive south of Cancun, Playa del Carmen was a haven for the backpacking sect back in the '70s and '80s. Then large all-inclusive resorts started gobbling up all the real estate along the pearly white sands of Playacar and the budget traveler was pushed out. In actuality, they only headed south a wee bit to the town of Tulum. Best known for its Mayan ruins, Tulum has that same beachfront view at budget prices. For food, head to Charlie's, an affordable Mexican joint on Main Street. If all you want is a clean room with a shower on the beach, opt for Cabanas Tulum, which runs as low as $60 a night. Posada Dos Ceibas is more upscale, with its own restaurant and daily yoga on the beach, but prices remain as low as $70 a night.
2)Negril, Jamaica
In the height of the day, Negril's glorious seven-mile stretch of sand is strewn with bodies. Chill with a thick book as locals approach you selling their wares—pineapple sliced fresh, ganja, a massage. For happy hour, folks make the trek to Rick's to watch the sun set and the Acapulco-style divers jump off the cliffs. You can have those sunsets to yourself at the nearby Rockhouse, a stylish boutique hotel where bungalows are carved into the rock. Prices start at $125 a night. If you want to stay on the beach, it's hard to beat the price of White Sands, which will run you a low $74 a night, with kitchenette, in high season
3) Destin, Florida
The Florida Panhandle is a coveted place that Southerners would prefer to keep to themselves. With a 100-mile stretch of sugary sand that fronts the Gulf of Mexico, and a fair share of golf and tennis, who can blame them? In Destin, the heart of the Panhandle, wake up early in the morning and take a stroll with the pelicans and sandpipers on the beach just as the fishing boats head out to sea. Feel free to join them and drop your own line to catch snapper and grouper. Later, discuss your day's adventure at one of Destin's dockside cafés. The blues and country music is always live and the fish and oysters always fresh. Stay at the relatively new Wingate where room prices, with continental breakfast, are in the double digits.
4) Huntington Beach, California
Most folks equate Orange County, California, with chi-chi Laguna Beach and all the celebs and young retirees who reside here. Yet, just a wee bit north of Laguna is the far more affordable Huntington Beach, popular with the surfer crowd. Make the International Surfing Museum your first stop and then see if any hot doggers are doing their stuff over by the pier. It won't be hard to find your own slice of paradise since Huntington Beach boasts eight miles of uninterrupted waterfront. Stay across from the beach, on the Pacific Coast Highway, at the Sun n' Sands Motel where rooms start at $129 a night in summer and the restaurants in town are just a short walk away
5)Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Let the affluent spend gobs of money on the Pacific coast at familiar resorts like the Marriott and Four Seasons, while travelers in the know follow the surfers to the Caribbean coast of this Central American country. At Puerto Viejo, you can walk on deserted beaches all the way south to Panama. The town has a laid-back, international appeal, with top-notch South American, Costa Rican, and Italian food. South of town, there are a number of bungalow-laden lodgings within easy walking distance to the beach, where rooms rarely exceed $75 a night. Check out La Costa de Papito or Playa Chiquita Lodge.
How can anyone resist beaches that sounds like paradise for an affordable price!!
Makes me miss the beach already.......

If a BBQ isn't really your style and you would much rather prefer to have something with a little more kick to spice up the party, maybe a Mexican fiesta would be just right for you!
